Progenitor Thorn, deceased after the events at the Blackstar Orbital Station. Appears to be a title that his fellow Technorati are now using. Was probably the mastermind behind the "enhancements" of the Volt Chaser nest. Now his successors take on the mantle of Thorn and fight side by side with his offspring as part of the so-called "Surge and Destroy" team.
Biography
After the destruction of his birth-nest, Thorn moved almost continuously, jumping from one starship and space station to the next, always seeking something and always learning. Occasionally, where he found a friendly host-nest, he might stay a while, gleaning what he could from its resident Maligni and sharing his own growing expertise in bio-engineering. But before long he would feel the urge to sneak aboard the next outward-bound starship and move on once more. All this changed when Thorn found Blackstar.
On Blackstar he saw the future. A place with more advanced technology than anywhere else he had ever been. A place where he could build weapons more powerful than anything any Malignus had ever seen before. A place he could build an army. It even came stocked with a large selection of organic test subjects. All he had to do was find a nest he could persuade to come and take the Blackstar for... with him.
He dared to approach the Crone Mother Kryza and share with her his vision. Its name was ‘Blackstar’ and, as soon as she saw it, the Crone Mother knew she would do anything to make it her own, just as Technoratus Thorn had hoped.
