Lord Ingulf Krestursson, First and Last Son of Maggnus and commander of the Bruderheim

Biography

Forge Lord Ingulf Krestursson, known to many as ‘the Dragon’, is a feared and respected Forge Lord. He is descended from the lords who initiated the peace talks that ended the War of the Short Front, but he himself feels only hatred for mankind. Many of his kin have died at the hands of the Council of Seven’s agents since the talks on Stjarnseer, and Ingulf desires nothing more than outright war between the two great powers.

His clan have been engaged in warfare against the GCPS for centuries and Ingulf ’s hatred of mankind is as legendary as his temper and martial strength of his clan. While he would never turn away from a fight with the GCPS, in truth Ingulf will go to war against anyone he views as threatening a Forge Father’s claim. He lead the Forge Fathers to war on Triton under the proud banner of his family and accompanied by his loyal war-mastiff Padd.

Padd is often seen by Ingulfs side even in the thick of battle. Steel Warriors will often debate who is the more surly and bellicose - the warhound or its master.

The Bruderheim

Like all Ward ships, the Bruderheim is gigantic and supports a sizeable population. It was used for the attack on Triton during Operation Heracles, as the Enforcers would call it. As Triton is distant from the Star Realm, and despite the Krestursson clan being renowned for its fighting prowess, they would be both outnumbered and outpaced by the Council's Enforcers. The Forge Fathers knew they could not win with numbers or speed, but where their advantage lay was in tenacity and sheer firepower. It was Forge Lord Ingulf Krestursson’s fervent hope that by prolonging the war on Triton he would be able to muster reinforcements and attract more clans to ally at his side, eventually overpowering any resistance. Alternatively, if the Bruderheimers could prevent the humans from turning a profit on their investments, the short-sighted corporations would be forced to cede the planet to cut their losses.

Forge Father tactics – a refusal to be drawn into rash moves and a patience borne of centuries of battle experience – confound Enforcer efforts to dislodge them from Triton. Holding any world against the might of the GCPS was never going to be easy, but if there’s one thing a dwarf loves as much as wealth, it’s a challenge.

The Withdrawal from Triton

Unbowed by his defeat on Triton following the quick intervention of the Enforcers led by Lt. Commander Roca during Operation Heracles, Ingulf Krestursson continues his campaign to sow discord and destruction throughout the GCPS. While his emissaries continue to attempt to sway opinion within the Star Realm and win more lords to his cause, the Dragon himself conducts lightning raids across the Five Spheres, assaulting the GCPS wherever he sees an opportunity. His rage is unquenched and his attacks are unpredictable and costly too. The Dragon ranks highly on the Council’s list of Priority Acquisition Targets, meaning every Enforcer across the Five Spheres would attempt to kill him on sight. There are indeed several Targeted Termination Teams working secretly to locate and assassinate the lord of the Krestursson clan already. For the sake of all the GCPS it is to be hoped perhaps that they succeed in their mission and soon.
