Cold Harbour is a planet that was intended to become a relay station for traffic both electronic and material which is part of the Fourth Sphere

About

Founded early in the fourth expansion of the GCPS, the colony of Cold Harbour was located close to slide points linking the south-eastern edge of Asterian space with the interior of the Core. Several orbital dockyards and intelligence stations were constructed and the lease-owners of the sector sat back and waited for the credits to roll in.

Trade between the two states never took off, and when the relationship between man and Asterian cooled even further in the wake of events in the Death Arc the colony found itself unwanted and unnecessary. Dozens of space stations were abandoned or mothballed as their crews moved on to other opportunities, but they were not empty for long. Nomad corporations and smuggling gangs quickly moved in to take advantage of the ready-made bases but soon found they were not alone. A large nest of Veer-myn, led by a Brood Mother guided by her Tangle offspring, had also made Cold Harbour their home and co-exist now with the new human residents. Quite why the nest chose such an isolated spot to stop in is unclear. Perhaps they feel safer being far from the main shipping lanes and eyes of the GCPS and are satisfied living off the illicit trade running through the sector. Or perhaps they have another as yet unrevealed but uniquely Veer-myn motive for wanting to be in a particular place in the galaxy at this time.
