Visvera is a highly populated garden world which has stood as a stanchion of civilisation and culture for centuries. Of course, all great things must come to an end. The star around which Visvera orbits, and from which it took its name, has begun to gradually collapse in on itself.
Condemned to an inevitable fate, the planet is undergoing a mass exodus as radiation from its dying star cascades through its atmospheric shielding as fast as its people can erect it. Once the pinnacle of beauty and culture, it has descended into anarchy and chaos in its death throes. The growing demand for off-world travel has led to hyperinflation of transit prices, meaning only the super-rich can afford to escape through legitimate means.
Criminal empires have sprung up around illegal liner operations, with unlicensed barkers offering escape from the doomed system for suspiciously low prices. Still, many would rather risk a fate on a slave�ship or pleasure world than still be around when the star finally collapses
