353AE - The colony at Spitzenner is destroyed
229/03 had been christened ‘Spitzenner’ by its human inhabitants, in honour of a particularly heroic colony ship pilot who had managed to get his passengers safely to their new home, out-maneuvering a blockade of pirate ships of unknown provenance. The alien privateers had already claimed two previous expeditions to the system yet somehow Spitzenner had got around them.
Following a Strikkhamr Clan preliminary assay operation, armed conflict followed and the Battle of Spitzenner was brief but very bloody, starting off the War of the Short Front.
