Magmarax is a young planet in the fourth Sphere that orbits very close to its star, causing highly unstable volcanic activity on its predominantly molten surface. The McAelish Corporation has spent the last several months studying this curious world ahead of making a license bid; so far they have compiled a catalogue of lesser creatures such as the Osterrak, a race of piscine lava dwellers, but have also discovered huge seams of mineral wealth beneath the flowing oceans of magma.
Things took an interesting turn when they encountered the Novae and Fyrit civilisations, intense rivals from opposite poles of the planet. Both peoples were keen to enter into discussions with representatives from the McAelish Corporation, each competing to outdo the other and agree mining rights for the planet’s precious natural resources. Although initially taken aback by their eagerness to sell out their home world, McAelish Corporation brokered a mutual arrangement with both, and soon licenses were being traded and terms agreed
Unfortunately for all involved, it would appear that the Forge Father Star Realm laid claim to Magmarax centuries ago, and they are not a people who are keen to share
