Kyoorani Prime hosted a Rebs base until mercenaries, including 'The Devil' and Wrath from the Eiras Contract, Ector Zanchez and Nastanza stormed the base. It was, like so many things now claimed by the ‘rebellion’, once a prime part of the GCPS. KP-1 was a purpose-built research base, designed to be largely indistinguishable from the surrounding jungle and complete with secure biolabs, a shuttle bay, recreational facilities, and a wide-band comms array. It should have been the first of a network of R&D constructs for Valatech, intended to increase and diversify that corporation’s wealth and holdings in the sector. But several ill-conceived investment decisions and one disastrous one to go to war with a Trontek subsidiary in 924AE saw the end of Valatech as an entity. Most of its estate ended up distributed amongst its creditors. KP-1 became just another entry in a long list of facilities Trontek owned but had no urgent use for and it was soon forgotten, left to fall into ruin.
Elsewhere on Kyoorani Prime there is other corporate activity. Ranches on the northern edge of its largest continent raise significant amounts of profitable biomass and biomass by-products and the port at Araha sees a steady flow of traffic. Most of the planet though is, as yet, wild and unspoiled.
For the rebels, it was ideal.
The Devil's Betrayal saw the events unfold in Kyoorani Prime. Shayo Silverback and Sergeant Erriq Umunsar were leading personnel fortifying the base and laying the trap.
